If you’re not interested in running the Alaska Endurance Trail Run, we need your help as a volunteer! You can commit to as much or as little as you want to contribute; every bit of help is deeply appreciated!

We generally need help in two main ways:
- In the early stages of event preparation, we need people to help plan and put together the details of the race. Ideally, you would take on responsibility for a major aspect of the race. We’re working on how to organize this, but potential areas would be registration and bib pickup, timing, marking the course, aid stations (including food), post-race BBQ and party (including food), course cleanup, finish area setup and breakdown. This work will begin in earnest in February.
- Race day volunteers. Come help out for a couple of hours or slog it out with us all day until the party ends! We need people to keep the aid stations fun, friendly, and well-stocked; timers (really, lap counters), gofers to go get things we forgot or run out of, cheerleaders, and course sweeps throughout the day. We’ll keep you fed and watered, and you’re welcome to the party!
And anyone who volunteers is most welcome to take a place of honor at the post-race BBQ!
Please contact the race director, Don Kiely, either by email or call (907) 455-6749. And thanks for considering to help out in any way you can!
Pre-Race Needs
In the days leading up to the race, there are a few areas of responsibility that we’d love to have someone take over and run with. These are:
- BBQ Captain – plan the food, buy it (but not pay for it!), cook it up, and serve it to race participants and volunteers.
- Aid Station Captain – plan the food, also buy but not pay for it, and get it organized. You don’t need to be there all weekend; the race director will be there to help coordinate things.
And we could use help marking the course.
Please consider helping out!
