Race Information | Course Information | Race Rules
We’ll have a fully stocked aid station at the beginning of the loops, with water and sports drinks as well as a variety of foods (both healthy and unhealthy!) for your race nutrition. And special goodies that will show up at various times during the day. We’ll also have a water-only aid station a bit beyond halfway around the loop (something like three-and-a-half miles) in the anti-clockwise direction, so you don’t have to carry too much fluid along with you. You’re welcome to stash a drop bag at the starting area as well, with whatever personal items you’ll need during the day. Bring a chair if you’d like, and maybe set up a tent. (We’ll keep an eye on the bags, but can’t be responsible for their safety; no valuables, please!)
Keep in mind that the main course loop is a bit over six miles long, so you’ll visit the each aid station several times during the day.
Primary Aid Station
This aid station will have a variety of foods and other supplies to hopefully take care of most of your nutritional needs during the day. Typical staples will include:
- Water, and Gatorade or Poweraid
- Orange slices and bananas
- Soft chocolate (things like Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, small Milky Ways, M&Ms)
- Variety of cookies
- Chips of various kinds (potato and corn)
- Variety of gels (probably GUs and Honey Stingers, maybe Vega) – limited quantities available later in the day
- Boiled potatoes and salt
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
Note: We’ve gotten feedback from previous years of the race that we had way too many things at the aid station. So we’re likely to pare things down a bit (and okay, 2017’s bagels weren’t exactly a hit!) but still have plenty of variety.
We’ll do our best to keep the above items stocked throughout the day. We apologize if we run out of anything, and will try to do better next year! If you need to rely on anything–or have to have your favorite flavor–please bring your own to be sure you have it when you need it.
For your comfort and health, we’ll have these items:
- Vasoline
- Baby wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Bug spray (of course!)
Note: We are going to try to reduce our environmental footprint, so will only have limited cups available. Please bring a water bottle to use. You’re welcome to leave it at either aid station, if you don’t want to carry it. Mark it with a unique mark!
Water-Only Aid Station
At this station, located a bit beyond the halfway point of the course, we’ll have the following items.
- Water
- Baby wipes
- Hand sanitizer
If there are other things that we should have at either aid station, please let us know! We might not have it for you this year, but we’ll consider adding it next year.
